Gian Manik will exhibit a series of new works in his solo exhibition at Venn Gallery, which will combine performance and sculpture to produce a series of paintings and video work.
For Shadow Cast Shadows, Manik continues to pursue multiple disciplines and in particular focuses on representations of the body, objects and self. In contemplation of this, he explored the sculptural possibilities of various semi-mirrored textiles and fabrics (including lame, emergency blankets and foils), translating them into paintings that play with shadow and reflection to portray both himself and object in an allusory manner.
